Moosa Swaidan
Civil engineer. Chairman of UNHID Developments. Building in Dubai and North America since 2001.
Formed on site, not behind a desk
Moosa Swaidan is a civil engineer who started on Dubai construction sites in 2001. Since then his work has covered the entire chain of building: design, engineering, contracts, construction, fitout, and delivery, across Dubai and North America.
He has worked on every side of the industry: for developers, for consultants, and for contractors. UNHID builds with that full-chain understanding of what each discipline requires.
He holds a degree in civil engineering and an Executive MBA from the Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh. His family has designed, engineered, and built in Dubai since 1968.
Dubai Islands, from the master plan years
Years before the first plots were released to developers, Moosa Swaidan was part of the design and engineering team that worked with Nakheel on the master plan of the destination, then known as Deira Islands. That work covered the planning and infrastructure behind the five-island vision.
UNHID's decision to build on Dubai Islands draws directly on that experience.
A record of delivered work
He served as construction manager on the fitout of Armani Hotel Dubai inside Burj Khalifa. His project work includes Atlantis The Royal, the interior of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library, the Dubai Metro, Dubai Marina Mall, the Hyatt Regency, and the Meydan Hotel with its VIP grandstand.
In private residential work: more than 240 luxury villas on Palm Jumeirah, homes in District One at Mohammed Bin Rashid City, more than 200 private residences for high-net-worth individuals, VIPs, and royal families, and private mansions in Texas and Pennsylvania.
In 2018 he founded LKYOOB, a design practice working between Dubai and Pittsburgh with a team of some sixty designers, architects, and engineers. In 2025 he established UNHID Developments, which applies that experience to a small number of turnkey residential projects.
UNHID Developments
As chairman, he keeps the portfolio deliberately small: low density over volume, considered detail over spectacle, homes delivered turnkey. The company works on Dubai Islands and in the United States.
